Go Fishing!

You can fish year around on Shaver Lake. Other area waters are open on the last weekend in April. Anglers, 16 years and older, who plan to fish in creeks, streams, rivers and lakes will need a California fishing license. Purchase at local stores.

Hiking Adventures

From to the PCT to the John Muir Trail to the trails around Shaver Lake, there is a great trek for all any age. Come on up and join others that enjoy the great outdoors. Bring your lunch, water, sunscreen and hat. U.S.F.S. reminds you, if you pack it in, pack it out.

Kayaking Fun

One or two people can explore the many waterways in the Sierra National Forest in a kayak. No launching ramp is necessary and you don't need fuel. All you have to do is be able to paddle along leisurely and enjoy the beautiful view.

Mountain Biking

Riding your bike along a mountain road or trail is fun, refreshing and good for your health. Here in Califonrnia's Central Sierra Nevada region, there are hundreds of miles of roads, dirt trails that are explored by non-motorized bikers.
